Calyn Saindon has been playing banjo for 9 years now.  She really enjoys singing harmony with her husband Neil, and on a few song with the rest of the band.
Her hobbies are scrapbooking, horseback riding and training,crafting and fishing. 
 Calyn and Neil have one son named Harvey, who makes apperences at some concerts.

"I picked banjo because all the 'good' insturments where taken. I am a self taught musican, I'm not as gifted as some of the other band members but I manage to get by.
  I have played with Fairland since it became 'the band' and before that I played with misc. bands my family had put together.  I hope to sing more but I'm not pushing for it ;)
 I really enjoy many styles of music. I started out playing bass, I really wanted to learn drums (crazy teenage years) When Neil and I first started going out I mostly listened to country (real country, not the stuff on the radio now) and bluegrass (he didn't even know what bluegrass was) Neil really opened my ears to new music, I now love all sorts of music.
  I went to my first rock/metel concert in MN in '06. I saw 'Muse' when they where on their american tour. I have to say, it was AMAZING, I could not hear for a week but it was so worth it. :)"
